Recently, our team hosted the 2nd Annual SmartRoof Golf Tournament – a company fundraiser for our charity of choice, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In late 2019, Smart Roof employees and leadership selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as their charity of choice. They hit the ground running and held a variety of fundraising initiatives throughout 2020 including; a golf outing, a 5K walk/run and holiday party raising nearly $100,000 for the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.®

Events like this help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.

The day kicked off with a presentation to the team regarding the impact that SmartRoof and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital are making together.

Here is an excerpt from the opening remarks:

“We all want to find meaning in our lives. Giving back and learning how to make an impact on others provides that meaning. We break out of our limiting beliefs about how much good one person can actually do in the world and we see firsthand that even the smallest acts of kindness can transform lives.

So, team, let’s not only GOLF today, let’s GIVE today.

Let’s all step outside the limiting walls and confines of ourselves and break into the beautiful and magnanimous space that opens up when we LIVE for others, when we GIVE for others.”

In raising over $50,000 for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital it’s clear that our team acted on that kickoff message as we enjoyed both golfing and giving.
